Probably New England, Early 18th Century
with modern flamestitch upholstery.
Height 15 1/2 x width 18 1/4 x depth 16 1/4 inches.
Condition
nice surface; with groove running the perimeter of interior- appears to have originally had caning (would probably have had separate cushion originally), with repaired break at upper inner corner of stile and to underside of side stretcher join at center stretcher; a few age cracks at joints; stable and sturdy, beautifully upholstered in modern flamestitch by Walt Mullen and inscribed in ink to underside of webbing- W.
